The Sunshine House will provide the best possible comfort care for children living with a variety of conditions who are likely to pass on during childhood, and for their families, in a warm, welcoming “home-away-from-home” designed especially for them. Many families will visit periodically over a number of years for respite care, to get a break from exhausting round-the-clock care-giving responsibilities at home. Other families will visit for care and support as their child transitions from this life. Others may turn to the Sunshine House in the event a family emergency requires care-givers to be away from home. Well siblings will get special attention, too. The Sunshine House will continue to offer compassionate support to loved ones after a child’s passing for as long as needed.
In addition to expert medical care, children and families will find at the Sunshine House all the comforts of home and more, including comfortable family accommodations for family members, fun activities, sacred quiet spaces, and community with other children and families in a similar situation --all in a healing, peaceful natural setting that is easily accessible and close to wonderful town amenities.
